Anamaria Martinca is an actress from Romania. She won the British Academy Television Award Best Actress for her Channel 4 film Sex Traffic. The actress fluently speaks French, German and English. Her mother played the violin The father of her is a professor of theater at one of Romania's best acting schools. She was awarded the Best Female Actor of the Year 2000 Award during The Young Actor Gala Mangalia. The award was given to her as the first European Shooting Star by the European Film Promotion Board in 2008. In 2007, she starred as a character in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 weeks si2 (4 months, 3 weeks, and 2 days) 4 months 3 weeks 2 days, directed by Cristian Mungiu (4 Months, 3 Weeks and 2 Days). The film won two prizes at the Cannes Film Festival (the Cinema Prize from the French National Education System & the FIPRESCI Prize). Youth Without Youth, a Francis Ford Coppola movie, was also part of her work. The role she played was Yasim Awar on BBC's five-episode The Last Enemy miniseries. Marinca has appeared in Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven and the Romanian drama Boogie. The actress later played a significant performance in the 2014 film Fury where she played the role of a German woman named Irma the aunt of Emma.
